Wrentham pairs its outlet-driven commercial strip with a genuinely quiet residential town — colonial neighborhoods around the common, lake housing at Lake Pearl and Lake Archer, and newer subdivision construction filling in along Route 1A and South Street. Family renovations here have grown steadily more upscale as the housing stock has matured.
The lake properties are worth a note of their own. A good number began as seasonal cottages and have been converted to year-round use, sometimes in stages, which produces bathrooms that are small, oddly shaped, and framed to no particular standard. Those are custom-glass projects almost by definition: the opening has to be measured in place and the glass cut to it, and frequently the right answer is a single fixed panel with an open entry, because there is nowhere for a door to swing.
